Our injection molding process in 3 steps
Injection molding is a powerful production method for producing plastic in a reliable and cost-efficient way. It is one of our specialties. At QDP, we have more than 15 years of experience with this technique and our own factory in China, which enables us to manage the complete production in-house. How does the injection molding process actually work? What is our approach? And what can you expect from the final product? A look inside our factory!
Our injection molding process
Many entrepreneurs who want to have plastic products made choose injection molding. The ability to work with many different types of plastic and to manufacture huge volumes in no time makes it a popular technique. In fact, it is the most widely used production technique for plastic products. What can you expect if you have a product (line) injection molded by us? To keep things clear, we work in 3 steps.
Step 1: The design
A good product starts with a good idea and an even better design. What do you require from your product in terms of shape and function? Do you have specific material requirements? Together, we look at the shape, function, material, the number of pieces that need to be produced and all other possible requirements. In the design phase, your idea comes to life on paper. Through several rounds of feedback, we create a final custom 3D design.
Step 2: Prototyping and validation
A prototype is the first (test) version of your product. In order to achieve a good final product, testing is necessary. That is why prototyping is an essential part of the injection molding process. The test model can be tried out and evaluated by the target group. We can use computer simulation to determine what thermal deformation occurs or where weak spots arise, and predict to the millimeter how the product will come out of the mold. In this way, errors can be detected at an early stage and you avoid double work and high costs. With our technology, we can produce extremely realistic prototypes.
