From wooden slats and zip ties to a toggle that slides together
The ground energy system worked, but installation took too much time and the slats were not transportable.
The challenge
The situation
Senfina extracts heat from the ground with the Sunliber system: a buried pipe through which a mixture circulates, warmed up by the earth. In a small area, in an ordinary garden.
The pipes were attached to long wooden slats with zip ties. That worked, but it required a lot of installation time and the slats were difficult to transport.
The requirements for the successor were clear: strong enough not to break, efficient to transport, easy to install, and with a professional appearance.

What we did
Our approach
- Senfina sketched the direction in 3D, QDP developed it into a modular plastic toggle that slides together.
- The sliding system holds itself in place as soon as the parts are joined, so no extra fastening is needed.
- First, the sliding principle was tested on a prototype, then a version was made that was strong enough to handle real loads.
- PA6 as production material, tough and strong enough for the tension of the pipe loops and the pressure from the ground.
What it delivers
The result
Faster installation
The loops are secured with a sliding motion, where previously zip ties were used.
Compact to transport
The new size fits where the long slats did not.
Brand in the product
The Sunliber logo is molded into the components.
