A Hair Stick in Twelve Colors—And Color Was the Whole Point
A fashion product where the material choice wasn't about strength, but about how deep the color appears.
The challenge
The situation
SO-PHI saw a gap in the market for the hair stick and had it developed at QDP. A fashion product stands or falls by how it looks.
That shifts the material question. Here, strength is not the decisive factor, but the way in which color appears in the material, and the fact that twelve variants must exist.

What we did
Our approach
- Polycarbonate was chosen because colors come out deep and clear in it, and it gives a high-quality appearance.
- The product was set up in twelve colors, so there is a suitable variant for every outfit.
- Consideration was given to color changes in production, since each change costs setup time and material.
What it delivers
The result
Twelve colors
A full palette instead of a single variant.
High-quality appearance
Polycarbonate gives the depth that belongs with a fashion product.
Fully recyclable
The selected material can be used again at the end of its life.
